第一部分、英语四六级作文题型预测
通过横向对比下面“历年英语四级、六级作文真题”大家可以看出，从1998年1月－2003年1月，英语四六级的作文题目其实都是一样，只是在字数要求上有点差异。但是从2003年6份开始，英语四级和英语六级的作文题目就完全不同了，并且大家会明显觉得英语六级作文要比四级作文难写。
另外，通过纵向分析“历年英语四级作文真题”不难发现，四级作文越来越突出“实用”两个字，像书信写作、演讲稿等在实际生活中能运用得到的题型，从1998年－2005年共考到了7次，特别从2002年6月开始几乎每年都要考到。另外，由于四级作文字数要求一般在120个单词左右，如果按每个句子10个单词来算，采用“三段分”的写作形式，每段也就大概3－4句话。这也就决定了四级作文不可能考得很复杂很难。同时由于不少大学仍然把“四级证书与学位”挂钩，再加上用人单位在招聘时也很看重英语四级证书，这就使得英语四级命题者在出题时不得不考虑试卷的整体难度。
然而由于“英语六级证书”不涉及到拿不拿学位的问题，通过这个考试它只反映也应该要反映出一个学生英语水平水平的高低，所以这就决定了英语六级考试和四级考试的差异性，这一点从2003年6月以后两者的作文题目不同就可以看出。同时通过纵向观察“历年英语六级作文真题”可以看到，像看图写作（即图表作文）、议论文写作（大部分是提纲式议论文写作）等比较难写的题型逐渐多了起来。综上所述，我们对2005年12月24日这次英语四六级考试作文作出下面的预测：
一、12月24日这次英语四级和英语六级的作文题目应该是不会相同的；
二、英语四级作文：以应用文写作为主，特别像申请信、求职信、投诉信、道歉信等书信写作和英文通知应该是复习的重点，各位网友应该要熟悉应用文写作的一些特定格式及注意事项。
三、英语六级作文：今年六级作文题型应该会在“图表式作文”和“提纲式作文”当中出现，像比较难写的情景作文、比较好写的应用文考到的几率应该很少。
